We are pleased to announce through the generosity of past participants we are celebrating our 10th year of hosting our Annual ToyRide© on Sunday November 21st 2010 Beginning at Angels Stadium in Anaheim and ending at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

Registration the day of ToyRide will be $15.00 and a new unwrapped Toy valued at $10.00 or more.

Additional tickets will be issued for toys in $10.00 increments.

$10.00 toy = 1 ticket

$20.00 toy = 2 tickets

$30.00 toy = 3 tickets etc

ToyRide’s Families of Fallen Riders Program

ToyRide is now accepting applications for “Families of Fallen Riders”. One of the hardest parts of being a motorcycle rider is knowing someone who has gone too soon because of their love of the ride. Sadly most of us have had to experience this loss on more than one occasion. This program was designed to support the families of our fellow riders that have passed on. ToyRide will be making donations to selected families to help with holiday expenses. Recipients will be chosen by the Board of Directors and decisions will be based on a “need for support” basis.

Nominations will be accepted until October 22, 2010. All nominations must be sent to info@toyride.org. Please submit a brief summary of the family, person and situation, along with your contact information, and contact information for the family. Please review the guidelines before making a nomination. All nominations will be reviewed and recipients will be notified the first week of November.

Recipient criteria:

A. Families currently receiving financial support from a motorcycle club are not eligible for this program.

B. Family must have at least one biological child of decedent under the age of 12.

C. Family must reside in one of the five Southern California counties (LA, OC, RIV, SD, and SB).

D. Family or representative of the family must be willing and able to attend the ToyRide event on November 21, 2010.

E. Decedent must not have been involved in the following at the time of passing:

a. COMMISSION OF A CRIME

b. INVOLVED IN POLICE PURSUIT/ EVADING POLICE

c. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY SUBSTANCE

We are planning an amazing event to benefit the foster children of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services offices (DCFS).

Eight years ago, when an Orange County Ca based sportbike club set out to help a local orphanage no one realized it would turn into a huge tradition helping hundreds of children every year. Now, known to most sportbike riders as ToyRide©, we host the only Sportbike charity event of its kind. Rain or shine, we ride for foster children.

The first few years the children at Hollygrove were well cared for by the generous donations collected at the various ToyRide© events. A Christmas party for all the ToyRide© recipient children was held and SANTA came in on a Sportbike of course! In an effort to help more children in Southern California, all proceeds after expenses will be donated to “Families of Fallen Riders”, “United Friends of the Children” scholarship program. For more information on any of these organizations please visit their website.
