Making Christmas brighter for foster children for the last 8 years



 

We are pleased to announce through the generosity of past participants we will be having our 8th Annual ToyRide© on Sunday December 14th 2008 at Angels Stadium in Anaheim Ca.

Anyone who pre-registers for the 2008 ToyRide between now and Nov 15th will be entered into a drawing for a $300.00 Gas Rebate Card.  This is a WIN WIN situation.  Here is your opportunity to help make Christmas brighter for the Foster Children in Southern California and GET FREE GAS!  If you are unable to attend the 2008 ToyRide you can still pre-register to win drawing prizes.  There will be a drawing each week of pre-registration. Drawing will be held 9am on Nov 16th from all pre-registered entries.  Winner will be contacted via email and announced on our Website.   

 

Now We Throw Down A Challenge 

Each year we have groups and participants who raise the bar and collect donations within their network to make a donation to ToyRide.  This year there will be a little contest for the person who collects the most donations (Cash and/or Toys).   Should the top winner be a group, each group member’s name will be placed into a drawing for the vacation.

 

 The top fundraiser will receive:

 

An “ALL INCLUSIVE” 4 DAY/ 3 NIGHT EXOTIC VACATION.  WINNER will have their choice of destination in Mexico, Puerto Rico, or Dominican Republic.  Airfare is not included but everything else is INCLUDING ALCOHOL!!!!  Should you need sponsor forms to assist with your donation requests please email us at  info@toyride.org.

 

 

We are planning an amazing event to benefit the foster children of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services offices (DCFS). 

 

ToyRide© has taken on Los Angeles County DCFS.  This year ToyRide© is working with multiple DCFS district offices within Los Angeles County to provide Christmas presents for the foster children.  As in years past ToyRide© has made sure that each child assigned to ToyRide© by the Los Angeles DCFS office received the gift they asked for.  This year we have stepped it up and ToyRide© will be providing each child with two items off their wish list.  This is a daunting task for our team to make sure that each child gets exactly what they are asking for.

    Mitey Mites

     This year ToyRide© has teamed up with Target, Wal-Mart and Toys R Us to help us reach our goal.  We receive discounts at each of these stores to help us provide for more children.  Cash donations and gift cards are accepted in Lieu of a toy.  These donations will be used by the ToyRide© staff to purchase toys specific to each foster child’s request.  If you are short on time, worried about carrying a toy on your bike or not sure what to get, cash or a gift card to one of these three locations would be greatly appreciated and quite helpful in allowing us to reach our goal of giving two requested gifts to each child.  You may also go online to our wish list and choose an item from the list. 

     Another option for gift-giving is www.amazon.com.  Click wish list and search under ToyRide©.  Please bring your Amazon receipt with you to the event.  All Amazon items must be received no later than December 16th 2008 so that we may have time to wrap them for distribution at our ToyRide© Holiday Parties for the foster children.

    Seven years ago, when an Orange County Ca based Sportbike club set out to help a local orphanage no one realized it would turn into a huge tradition helping hundreds of kids every year. Now, known to most Sportbike riders as ToyRide©, we host the only Sportbike charity event of its kind. Rain or shine, we ride for foster children.

     

    The first few years the children at Hollygrove were well cared for by the generous donations collected at the various ToyRide© events. A Christmas party for all the ToyRide© recipient children was held and SANTA came in on a Sportbike of course! All proceeds after expenses benefit DCFS.     In an effort to help thousands of foster children in Southern California, Cash funds will be donated to Celebration One, which awards college scholarships to students in the Independent Living and Foster programs.
